Assistant Director of Emergency Services:
The Rescue Mission of Trenton is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Emergency Services for our Emergency Shelter. The Assistant Director of Emergency Services: plays a vital leadership role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and compliant operation of our emergency shelter across all shifts. Under the supervision of the Director of Emergency Services, this position bridges strategic planning with day-to-day execution, supporting staff, mentoring team members, and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:- Support the Director in overseeing shelter operations, staffing, and workflow management.
- Ensure Emergency Shelter Associates (ESAs) are trained, supported, and aligned with organizational values and Department of Community Affairs (DCA) regulations.
- Lead and mentor staff across multiple shifts and departments to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Streamline operational processes and reduce inefficiencies.
- Maintain high standards of safety, dignity, and care for all clients.
- Serve as a visible and accessible leader to staff and clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in social services, business administration, or a related field preferred or equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience in shelter, social services, or a related setting.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000:
