Title: Payroll Specialist
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 4 Month Contract Possibility of Extension
Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Monday to Friday)

Description:
- Process the payroll accurately, correctly and on time – done by daily validations, crewsheet entry and approval.
- Balance payroll register to TAS, Kronos Time and Attendance system or other payroll systems.
- Generate accurate payroll reports using payroll systems.
- Maintain TAS or Kronos Time and Attendance system (or other systems) and any upgrades and enhancements to ensure correct reporting of hours being paid.
- Respond to/resolve hourly payroll issues.
- May also respond to/resolve salary payroll issues.
- Ensure adequate back-up is available for payroll duties.
- Audit Controls – trace the payroll process for any employee.
- Generate reports as needed for regulatory purposes.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies. Interact effectively with others and resolve conflict.
- May process grievance payments as requested by HR Personnel.
- Assist with Production Execution work as needed.
- May reconcile P card usage. May remedy “blocked invoices” and GRIR issues.
- Prepares and enters data for monthly financial close, checking for accuracy and completeness.
- Pulls standard reports and shares them with finance and business teams as needed.
- Updates trackers and spreadsheets for key financial and operational metrics Assists with basic data validation and flags discrepancies to the appropriate team.
- May calculate pension payments for current employee and calculate payments for employee health insurance for both active and retired employees .
- Ensure adherence to all standard work processes, including K-LEAN processes. Responsible for compliance with all regulations.
- Food Safety – plant in proper sanitary condition at all times, including allergen control, pest control, guidelines followed.
- Compliance with food safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for MCRS® sustainability: Ensure achievement of all area / shift KPIs; ensure adherence to and continuous improvement of all area / shift MCRS® elements.
- Responsible for supporting the execution of relevant projects within assigned area / shift.
- Responsible for supporting talent management process for hourly employees. Ensure Diversity and Inclusion meets / exceeds corporate standards.
- Proactively engage in the development and training of hourly labor and support such plans developed by plant leadership.
- Maintain understanding of processes and functional interdependencies.
- Recognize and escalate, as needed, those issues identified as risks to, or opportunities to improve, plant performance.

Candidate Minimum Qualifications:
- Extensive experience working with a collective bargaining agreement required.
- Time management skills required.
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products required.
- 2 - 3 years of payroll experience in a large corporation - experience with WFM, UKG, Kronos, etc.
- Candidate Preferred Qualifications: - BS in Business Administration or Finance preferred.
- Extensive experience with interpersonal relations and advanced interpersonal and communication skills preferred.
- Experience working in a fast pace, multitasking environment preferred.
- Strong ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills very desirable.
Education Required:
- High school diploma/GED required.
