Title: Materials Engineering Technician

Location: Stoughton, WI

Duration: 6 Months Temp to Hire

Shift: 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday)

Description:

• Performs routine analyses using materials Engineering tools and standard instruments and test equipment while positively impacting the organization’s performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operates analytical instruments and equipment and performs physical analysis in support of production and non-production engineering, quality, and manufacturing groups.
• Prepares samples and specimens for testing using standard laboratory techniques, procedures, or work instructions.
• Acquires and interprets data and documents results; provides written results in a laboratory or technical report format when appropriate.
• Develops and documents laboratory methods.
• Performs routine calibrations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repair of instruments and equipment.
• Coordinates the collection, transportation, and documentation of chemical waste disposal.
• Works with and trains apprentices, trainees, and technicians.
• Interfaces with customers, suppliers, engineers, and other functions.
• Coordinates programs including planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking.
• Participates in the maintenance of quality procedures and work instructions.
• Participates in improvement projects.
• Develops and gives presentations to customers and suppliers.
• Participates in self and team audits and associated corrective action.
• Performs other miscellaneous duties, as required.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

• High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience. Associate’s degree or certification may be required depending on region.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

• Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
