What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host, Food Runner, and Server position at Republic Hospitality?
We are seeking a professional and personable Hosts and Food Runners to join our team at Republic Hospitality. In this role, you will guide guests to their tables, provide exceptional hospitality, and support the team in creating a seamless and welcoming guest experience. This position requires a polished appearance, excellent communication skills, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly, manage reservations and incoming calls, and guide guests to appropriate tables.
- Anticipate guest needs and help create a welcoming, memorable dining experience.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the entrance, host stand, menus, and dining areas.
- Complete opening and closing side-work, including organizing menus, polishing silverware, resetting tables, and maintaining table readiness.
- Assist during service by clearing dishes, wiping tables, refilling water glasses, accommodating guest requests, and running food as needed.
- Support servers, kitchen staff, and fellow team members to ensure smooth service and a positive work environment.
- Attend pre-service meetings, training sessions, and departmental meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous hospitality or host experience preferred, ideally in a high-volume restaurant, nightclub, or lounge.
- Professional appearance with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stay focused, calm, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, bend, lift up to 30 lbs, perform repetitive motions, and work around hot kitchen elements and cleaning materials.
- Flexible availability required, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Training Requirements:
- Completion of Republic Hospitality in-venue host training.
