Job Summary:
This position provides a variety of administrative and logistical assistance to support all aspects of the programs and activities of the Renville County SWCD and the District Administrator. Support SWCD outreach and education program promotion. Assist in marketing the service and mission of the SWCD.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
• Grant tracking which may include compiling and reconciling financials, collecting supporting documentation, creating documents, requesting checks, processing payments, maintaining client accounts and costs share contract procedures. Including grant verification and audits.
• Principal financial duties and financial tracking; principal financial duties (accounts payable & receivable), and financial tracking, budget tracking, and record keeping
• Develops public education materials and marketing materials; manages and expands the SWCD social media presence, including but not limited to the following platforms: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.
• Develops clear and concise communications deliverables that promote Renville County’s brand, strategic vision, mission, and values.
• Coordinates agenda information submission and agenda preparation between SCWD Administration and departments, including contracts and the development of resolutions and formal Board correspondence.
• Act as Administrative Secretary to the District Administrator with the following responsibilities: Coordinate meeting arrangements and reservations, maintain website information, and perform duties as requested by the District Administrator and Board.
• Schedules meetings and appointments for staff and Board including coordinating conference registrations, travel arrangements, and lodging as needed.
• Maintains all reports, correspondence, files, applications, permits, records, databases, and website. Archives and records retention schedule.
• Maintains adequate records and prepares needed reports for submission.
• Responsible for assisting in preparing of Board agendas and minutes in accordance with the MN Government Data Practices Act.
• Initiates and directs a public information program through individual contacts, tours, newspaper, radio, TV, district newsletter, public appearances for civic functions, public schools, youth groups, and other groups upon request.

Education and/or Experience:
Associate's degree (A.A.S ) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and training.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write correspondence and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to local units of government, management, public and private groups and organizations.
Mathematical/Computer Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, areas, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Must have experience using a personal computer. (Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, excel, QuickBooks).
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Regular and timely work attendance, ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, agencies, and clients; ability to work under stressful conditions.

Physical Demands:
