What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Mechanic position at RENTWAY?

What you'll do
- Own the maintenance program - decide what's serviced in-house vs. outsourced, and keep the whole NH fleet rental-ready.
- Run PMs and repairs across a broad mix - excavators, loaders, telehandlers, aerial lifts, generators, compactors. Hydraulics, diesel, electrical, welding.
- Roll to jobsites on breakdown calls - diagnose and fix in the field, or swap the machine.
- Inspect returns, flag damage and bill-backs, and manage critical spare parts.
- Keep OSHA / EPA / DOT / ANSI compliance tight.
What you'll bring
- 3 years hands-on heavy equipment mechanic / service tech - rental house, dealership, fleet, or independent shop.
- Hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical, and basic welding cold.
- Valid driver's license; comfortable driving to customer sites across the Northeast.
- Can work a yard year-round (NH winters included), lift 50 lbs, and get under a machine.
- Bonus: ASE cert, OEM training (Cat, Deere, Bobcat, JLG, Genie, Skyjack, Atlas Copco), CDL A/B, mobile field service, rental software, bilingual EN/ES.
