Job Purpose and Objectives:
&
Under limited supervision, this position does advanced accounting and auditing of the Health Department’s financial operations and budgets.& Examines and analyzes work processes, records, and procedures.& Examines records and documents to evaluate compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.& Provides assistance in the completion of the advanced audit or analysis procedures.& Provides guidance, education, and consultation to the other program within the department on budgets and grant reporting. Completes grant reporting requirements for federal and state grants.& Assists with grant writing including grant narratives and budgets.

Position Requirements:
- Degree in accounting, or a degree in finance /business administration which includes a strong education in governmental and cost accounting.
- Background and prior experience in auditing, medical billing and/or grants is desired. &
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- Three to five years in accounting and financial management preferred.
- Three to five years’ prior experience in working with local government, state, and federal program requirements preferred.
- Prior experience of working with auditors desired.

Certifications / Licenses:
- CPR certification preferred.
- TRAIN courses related to job duties/requirements.
- Continued training to maintain and/or increase skills and knowledge base, including changes in accounting, grants, and regulations.
