RemX is looking to fill Remote Medical EMR Record Specialist
- Title: Medical EMR Record Specialist
- 3-6 months project ( 8 hour shift)
- Salary: $15-$16
- Schedule: Mon- Fri | 6AM - 8PM
- Location: Remote
- Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage Release of Information (ROI) requests in accordance with HIPAA, state laws, and organizational policies.
- Retrieve, review, and deliver medical records using EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely response to patient, legal, insurance, and third-party requests.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Audit ROI logs and EMR access reports to ensure compliance and identify discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Health Information Management (HIM), IT, and clinical teams to resolve record-related issues.
- Train staff on EMR navigation, ROI procedures, and data privacy best practices.
- Support EMR system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new features.
- Generate and analyze reports on ROI volume, turnaround times, and compliance metrics.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance ROI and EMR workflows.
Qualifications :
- Experience with legal and insurance-related medical record requests.
- Familiarity with document imaging systems and electronic faxing tools.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows.
- Analytical skills for report generation and data interpretation.
- Certification in ROI or Health Information (e.g., RHIT, CHPS, CRIS) is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in ROI processing and EMR systems in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical record confidentiality.
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or similar platforms).
