Job Title: RTI Literacy Coordinator
Department: Instruction
Reports To: Director of Academic Tiered Services
Compensation: $78,408
TRS Classification: Classified
Summary:
The RTI Literacy Coordinator oversees literacy intervention services and supports staff in
identifying and addressing the needs of struggling readers. This role includes coaching
teachers, guiding data-driven instruction, and ensuring effective, consistent interventions,
including support for students at risk for dyslexia. The coordinator also helps strengthen literacy
systems within an MTSS framework.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
? Lead and facilitate regular collaboration meetings with RTI Literacy Specialists to ensure
alignment of coaching practices and intervention support.
? Monitor implementation of structured literacy practices for consistency and quality.
? Facilitate problem-solving meetings with teachers and interventionists focused on
instructional concerns, including student engagement and student growth, to strengthen
intervention practices across the district.
? Help design and strengthen the literacy supports and services required within an MTSS
framework.
? Collaborate closely with the RTI Math Coordinator to ensure alignment of coaching
practices and intervention systems for specialists, supporting consistent implementation
of MTSS instructional practices across literacy and math.
? Facilitate, develop, and oversee the delivery of district-wide professional development
focused on the evidence-based intervention practices within an MTSS framework,
including strategies designed to support all struggling learners, including students with
characteristics of dyslexia.
? Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Academic Tiered Services.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
? Provides direct supervision and support to RTI Literacy Specialists.
Education and/or Experience
? Master’s Degree in reading, language and literacy, special education, or related field
required
? Current and appropriate OK teaching license in Elementary Education, Special
Education, or Reading Specialist
? Building-level or district-level leadership experience preferred
? Training in the Science of Reading Required, including certification or coursework in
evidence-based practices (e.g., Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT), CALP
(Certified Academic Language Practitioner), The Center for Effective Reading Instruction
(CERI) Certification, Educational Therapist certification or other Orton-Gillingham
Training (Take Flight, Alphabetic Phonics (AP), Wilson, Institute for Multi-Sensory
Education (IMSE) or Evidence Based Literacy Instruction (EBLI)
? Reading Specialist certification or Literacy Interventionist training required, or willing to
obtain/make progress towards one of these certification during the 26-27 school year
? Classroom or SPED teaching experience required
Qualifications
? Experience providing instructional coaching and professional development to teachers
? Experience implementing or supporting RTI/MTSS frameworks
? Knowledge of the Strong Readers Act requirements and literacy screening and
intervention processes
? Experience supervising or leading instructional specialists or intervention teams
? Supports and communicates effectively with colleagues, including administrators.
? Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships.
? Demonstrates skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability
backgrounds.
? Knowledge of reading interventions
? Knowledge of curriculum design and instructional strategies, quality instructional
practices, professional development, student data analysis, assessment practices, and
staff training techniques.
? Demonstrates leadership skills in professional practice.
? Reads, interprets, and applies legal mandates, policies, rules, regulations, and
operational procedures pertaining to school and departmental operations.
? Develops goals and objectives; establishes and meets schedules and timelines.
? Defines projects and specifications; deals with a variety of projects simultaneously;
prepares clear and concise management reports.
? Understands and carries out oral and written directions. Communicates effectively both
orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. Exchanges and retrieves information
in person, by email, and on the telephone.

? Applies policies and procedures related to the assigned duties and responsibilities of the
position with good judgment in a variety of situations.
? Ability to maintain professional confidentiality and comply with FERPA guidelines
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial
reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from
customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to
communicate effectively with students, families and coworkers, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to effectively present information to students, families, and supervisors.
Mathematical Skills
Basic math skills required
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Google applications,
Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with EdPlan preferred. Must have a high
aptitude to learn new software as necessary for the business operations of the school.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee
encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations

This position is remotely based and also must travel to various Epic sites. This requires
spending a significant amount of time in the car, driving in various conditions and at various
times of day. The noise level is quiet to moderately loud (when students are present.)
