Job Title: 504 Specialist
Department: Special Services
Reports To: 504 Director
Compensation: $65,314.26
TRS Classification: Classified
Summary:
The 504 Specialist works under the direct supervision of the 504 Director. The 504 Specialist will support
the role of the SpEd Admin to ensure that we are providing appropriate programs in the least restrictive
environment for all students with accommodation needs throughout the entire school. The 504 Specialist
is responsible for oversight of daily management of compliance issues related to 504 Accommodation
Plans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
? Ensure compliance with the 504 Accommodation Plans and that they are written in
accordance with the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) and the American
Disability Acts (ADA)
? Manage the coordination of 504 meetings with Epic staff and families
? Organize conference calls for 504 meetings and provide facilitation of the 504 processes
? Support the Epic teachers by fielding emails/phone calls pertaining to 504 requirements
? Train Epic teachers from start to finish on 504 processes and procedures
? Handle paperwork with confidentiality and accomplish the documentation as outlined by the
procedures set for by Sped Administration
? Attend all mandated Special Education training
? Perform all administrative duties
Supervisory Responsibilities:
? There are no supervisory responsibilities at this time.
Education and/or Experience
? Bachelor’s degree required
? Experience and knowledge of implementation of the American Disabilities Act (ADA) and
Section 504, as applied to school-related implementation, are preferred
? Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in one of the following areas:
? Mild/Moderate Disabilities
? Multi-Handicap
? Visual Impairment
? Deaf/Hearing Impairment
? Intellectual Disabilities

? Severe /Profound Disabilities

Qualifications
? Understanding of ADA and Section 504
? Ability to collect and analyze data from a variety of sources
? Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
? Demonstrated ability to think creatively and demonstrates leadership abilities
? Ability to build effective relationships, work collaboratively and gain credibility quickly to instill
confidence of teaching ability
? Strong decision making, organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
? Use effective positive interpersonal communication skills
? Resolve issues and conflicts
? Strong technology skills in up-to-date computer software including Zoom, word processing,
and spreadsheets
? Current on new instructional technologies
? Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others
? Demonstrates self-discipline and initiative
? Passionate commitment to the mission of school choice
? Ability to maintain professional confidentiality and comply with FERPA guidelines
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal
documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or
members of the business community. Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and
coworkers, both verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively present information to students, families, and
supervisors.
Mathematical Skills
Basic math skills required
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills
Computer proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office and Google Suite are preferred. Ability to manage
multiple computer screens is preferred in addition to knowledge of web conferencing/meeting tools.
Must have a high aptitude to learn new software as necessary for the business operations of the
school.

This position is remotely based but must also travel to various Epic sites and events. This requires
spending a significant amount of time in the car, driving in various conditions and at various times of the
day. The noise level is quiet to moderately loud (when students are present.)
