Job Title: Advanced Courses Director

Reports To: Managing Director of Advanced Courses
Compensation: $75,000

Summary:
The Advanced Courses Director will perform a variety of supervisory and administrative tasks in overseeing and monitoring services and programs for the Advanced Courses Department, for example fine arts, the Advanced Placement Program and future pre-AP program. This will include identifying curriculum and resources, building professional development, building community relationships to support the programs, building a culture of advanced studies within Epic, and integrating the programs as part of the core academic subjects. The Advanced Courses Director will work to maximize collaboration opportunities amongst faculty and staff to organically grow the programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Complete all AP Coordinator responsibilities from the College Board in a timely manner.
- Research and provide information about professional development opportunities for AP teachers.
- Solicit input from AP teachers and determine supplementary resources that may be needed to enhance instruction.
- Meet with AP and fine arts teachers as necessary to determine program needs.
- Lead the vertical team of AP teachers and fine arts teachers.
- Coordinate staff development for teachers.
- Advise, assist, and consult with the College Board and GSS team on recruitment of students into the AP program.
- Coordinates and supervises the collection and treatment of data needed for the purposes of reporting, planning, and decision-making as it relates to Advanced Placement student.
- Meets regularly (weekly) with the administrative team to review the implementation and execution of Advanced Courses Initiative goals. Attends other meetings and training as directed.
- Additional projects and duties as needed by management.
- Work toward the goals of improving overall student success in advanced disciplines and enhancing the recruitment and success rate of traditionally underrepresented students.
- Provide leadership in the improvement, expansion, and extension of Advanced Courses programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This role will supervise 5-7 team members.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
- High School teaching experience is preferred.
- Advanced Placement experience is preferred.

Computer Skills:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have computer proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, and Google Tools.
- Must have an understanding of using the Google suite as most lessons will be created with that system.
- Must have a high aptitude to learn new software as necessary for the business operations of the school.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Current driver's license and valid car insurance.
Other Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a state-mandated background check after a conditional offer of employment is made
- Must have favorable employment references.
