Production Planner
Reports to: Manager, Supply Chain Planning Department: Supply Chain Mgt

JOB SUMMARY:
Production Planners coordinate production workflow through their responsible department (Cold Heading, Thread Rolling, Heat Treatment, or Qualifying) to attain on-time shipments of customer orders. Production Planners schedule movements of fasteners through the manufacturing process, taking into account equipment, material and manpower. They work closely with production managers, supervisors, engineers, maintenance, and Supply Chain professionals to ensure everything runs smoothly.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate production workflow according to production needs.
- Develop and review production plans with department management for alignment and monitor production runtime and plan execution.
- Assess machine requirements, raw material and tooling availability, order priority, machine set-up times, and skilled labor requirements.
- Resolve potential issues quickly, investigate production problems, and provide solutions to improve runtime. Escalate complex issues to management.
- Perform load leveling on the build plan.
- Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks that may arise.
- Effecting changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met and promptly informing relevant departments of changes.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Training and development of production team members in planning, scheduling related topics.
- Managing projects related to CI.
- Participation in shop floor management meetings and logistics meetings.
- Maintain reports for production planning activities and sequences.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Either two years of college, or five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, or a combination of both.
- Advanced SAP know-how required.
- Computer (MS Office) experience, including Excel, is required.
- Good communication skills.
- Must enjoy a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Noise – heavy machinery – if in plant.
- Noise – vibratory bowls and air feed systems – if in plant.
