We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support capital equipment, facility, and manufacturing projects within a large-scale production environment. This role will be responsible for evaluating electrical systems, managing projects from concept through implementation, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and safety standards, and collaborating with internal teams and external contractors to deliver successful project outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in manufacturing environments, strong knowledge of industrial power distribution systems, and the ability to manage multiple projects while driving results in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate project feasibility, scope, schedules, and budgets
- Develop project scope of work documents, bid packages, and technical specifications
- Review technical drawings and engineering documentation, providing feedback and recommendations
- Evaluate electrical power systems and identify opportunities for improvement
- Ensure electrical systems and equipment comply with local, state, and national electrical and safety codes
- Partner with third-party safety compliance contractors to support project requirements
- Evaluate power distribution systems, breaker sizing, amp draw, SCCR ratings, panel loading, and related electrical calculations
- Specify and confirm electrical components for industrial equipment and manufacturing systems
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, production, skilled trades, equipment manufacturers, and affiliate companies to meet project objectives
- Supervise contractors in both greenfield and brownfield project environments
- Coordinate equipment installation and startup activities
- Track project progress and develop countermeasures to mitigate delays and maintain schedules
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to electrical systems, equipment reliability, and facility infrastructure
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Trade Certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience developing bid specifications and negotiating with contractors
- Minimum of 2 years of technical drawing review and interpretation experience
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial power distribution and electrical system design experience
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and code compliance
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience supporting large manufacturing or automotive facilities
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and other applicable electrical and safety standards
- Experience with facility expansions, equipment installations, and capital projects
- Experience coordinating contractors and third-party vendors
- Familiarity with industrial controls, automation systems, and manufacturing equipment
