We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide direct support in medication administration as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are reported promptly.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's overall well-being.
- Help clients engage in social and recreational activities to promote their physical and mental health.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring the comfort and safety of clients at all times.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and family members to create personalized care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in personal care or a related field is preferred.
- PCA / CNA license.
- Driving License.
- Knowledge of first aid practices is beneficial for ensuring client safety.
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures is an asset.
- Strong understanding of home community care principles, long-term care practices, and retirement home environments is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
