We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations & Compliance Manager to support the delivery of employee relations, workplace compliance, and organizational effectiveness initiatives across a fast-paced, global technology environment. The successful candidate will work closely with People Business Partners, Legal, Ethics & Compliance, Audit, Security, and business leaders to manage complex employee relations matters, conduct investigations, drive compliance programs, and provide strategic guidance on workforce issues.
This role is ideal for a proactive, highly confidential, and emotionally intelligent HR professional who excels in navigating sensitive workplace situations, balancing risk and business objectives, and ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant employee practices.
Location: San Francisco, CA or Bellevue, WA (Hybrid - 2 days onsite weekly)

Pay: $60 hour
- Conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations into employee relations concerns, including allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, workplace misconduct, and policy violations.
- Manage sensitive employee relations matters while ensuring compliance with company policies, employment laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with People Business Partners, Legal, Ethics & Compliance, and business leaders to assess risk, recommend appropriate actions, and resolve complex workplace issues.
- Support and administer formal performance management processes, providing guidance to leaders and HR stakeholders while ensuring consistency and compliance.
- Document investigations, performance management cases, and employee relations activities within case management systems and internal tracking tools.
- Provide coaching and consultation to leaders and HR partners on employee performance concerns, workplace conflicts, behavioral issues, and other employee relations matters.
- Support workforce changes, including position eliminations, organizational restructures, and related employee communications and consultations.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and facilitation of employee relations, compliance, and workplace conduct training programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to communicate and educate employees and leaders on policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and workplace expectations.
- Support regional and organizational compliance initiatives, including policy administration, employee contract updates, government reporting, right-to-work requirements, accommodations, leave management, and time-tracking compliance.
- Analyze employee relations and performance management data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for organizational improvement.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing employee relations activity, compliance metrics, and organizational health insights.
- Partner with People Analytics and other stakeholders to leverage data-driven recommendations that improve employee experience and mitigate organizational risk.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to employee relations processes, compliance programs, and workplace investigations.
- Support projects and initiatives across multiple regions and time zones while effectively managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- 5 years of progressive employee relations, compliance, employment law, workplace investigations, or related HR experience.
- Demonstrated experience conducting complex workplace investigations involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, misconduct, and policy violations.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, workplace regulations, compliance requirements, and employee relations best practices.
- Experience supporting formal performance management processes and coaching leaders through difficult employee situations.
- Proven ability to assess organizational risk, exercise sound judgment, and provide practical business-focused recommendations.
- Experience managing sensitive and highly confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging employee relations data, trends, and metrics to support decision-making.
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and cross-functional partners while maintaining objectivity and credibility.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Experience working collaboratively across HR, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Security, and business functions.
- Ability to work independently while navigating ambiguity and changing business priorities
Preferred
- Experience supporting global or multi-regional employee relations and compliance programs.
- Experience with organizational restructures, workforce reductions, and position elimination processes.
- Knowledge of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) practices and workplace conflict management methodologies.
- Experience delivering employee relations, compliance, or management training programs.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow, Workday, and Google Workspace.
- Experience utilizing HR analytics and reporting tools to identify workforce trends and organizational risks.
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent employment law experience preferred.
- Experience within a high-growth technology or SaaS organization.
