Bilingual English-Spanish Program Support Specialist (Part-Time, 50% FTE)

Anticipated Start date: January, 2026

Position Summary

The Bilingual Program Support Specialist will support the effective operation of RSN’s mentor development and youth wellness skill building programs by providing administrative, logistical, and data management assistance within RSN’s service area. This role will collaborate with and support the RSN Program Manager and RSN Director of Programs to strengthen program delivery, support mentor recruitment and onboarding, manage program resources, improve communication with participants families, and community and partners, and help advance RSN’s mission to support youth and families impacted by mental health, substance use, or justice involvement.

  • Supervised by: Dir. of Programs
  • Status: Non-Exempt
  • FTE: 50% (≈ 20 hours/week)
  • Base Rate (FTE): $45,000 (actual ~$22,500 annually for 50% FTE)
  • Location: Hybrid (serving Orange, Chatham, Durham and Alamance Counties, NC)
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish required.

Key Responsibilities

Program Coordination & Logistics (35%)

  • Provide administrative support to the Programming Team
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of trainings, workshops, mentor-mentee events, and participant engagement events
  • Support scheduling, logistics, and communication with mentors, participants, and caregivers
  • Prepare and distribute program materials and supplies
  • Maintain program calendars and support multi-county event coordination
  • Support with mentor hiring processes, including scheduling and attending interviews, and completing administrative tasks related to onboarding and training.
  • Take notes during mentor meetings and distribute follow-up communications and action items

Data Management & Evaluation (20%)

  • Enter and maintain participant and service data in RSN’s database or spreadsheets
  • Assist with collection and tracking of evaluations, progress reports, surveys, and feedback forms
  • Help create summaries or reports for internal use and funder reporting
  • Ensure confidentiality and data security at all times

Administrative & Fiscal Support (20%)

  • Track and reconcile program expenses and assist in developing budgets for enrichment and special events.
  • Support reimbursement processes and expense documentation, including mentor expense tracking, reconciliation and payments.
  • Maintain organized records in digital and physical formats, compliant with RSN and funder policies
  • Assist with resource management, including organizing, updating, and sharing training and support materials for mentors
  • Research and share professional development and training opportunities for mentors

Communication & Outreach (15%)

  • Assist with mentor and participant recruitment via community outreach and partner networks
  • Draft and distribute program communications (emails, flyers, newsletters)
  • Serve as a courteous, professional point of contact for stakeholders
  • Develop and implement social media campaigns consistent with RSN’s overall communications strategy.
  • Research and share opportunities and resources relevant to parents, guardians, and caregivers
  • Support ongoing communication with parents, participants, and guardians
  • Attend community partner meetings and represent RSN in a professional and collaborative manner

Organizational Support (10%)

  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute ideas for program improvement
  • Provide planning and logistical support for organizational events or fundraising efforts
  • Uphold RSN’s mission, values, and commitment to equity, confidentiality, and community well-being

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree (or equivalent) in human services, nonprofit administration, education, or related field
  • At least one year of experience in program coordination, administrative support, or nonprofit operations required
  • Experience supporting recruitment, hiring, or onboarding processes preferred
  • Experience working or collaborating with community partners, youth-serving organizations, or families is a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Forms) and or other CRM platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage priorities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating in a small team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort communicating with mentors, youth, and families
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish (spoken and written) is highly desirable
  • Ability to research, curate, and share relevant resources, trainings, and opportunities
  • Commitment to working with youth and families impacted by mental health, substance use, or justice involvement
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practices

Work Environment & Requirements

  • Hybrid environment: some remote work with regular in-person meetings, trainings, and field events across RSN’s service area.
  • Occasional evenings or weekends may be required to support program activities
  • Must have reliable transportation for local travel (mileage will be reimbursed)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Rate (FTE): $45,000 (actual ~$22,500/year at 50% FTE)
