The Certified Peer Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges. The Certified Peer Specialist serves as a mentor and advocate, guiding clients through their recovery journey while promoting self-advocacy and empowerment.
Duties
- Provide one-on-one support to clients, utilizing personal experiences to inspire hope and motivation.
- Assist clients in navigating mental health/substance use services and community resources.
- Collaborate with mental health and substance use professionals to develop individualized recovery plans.
- Engage in crisis intervention and management as needed, ensuring client safety and well-being.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress.
- Promote the principles of recovery-oriented care within the community.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills.
