Overview Of Responsibilities
- Performs all primary job responsibilities listed for EMT-Basic scope of practice as approved by the Indiana EMS Commission and any additional skills approved by the Reid Health EMS Medical Director.
- Possesses critical thinking skills.
- Possesses awareness of healthcare delivery systems and the level of educational preparation of healthcare providers.
- Assesses, treats, and coordinates health services for patients in the prehospital setting.
- Administers patient care consistent with department protocols and physician orders.
- Develops and completes appropriate reports for the EMS Program.
- Attends meetings as requested or required.
- Attends trainings as requested or required.
- Performs daily station duties, including cleaning and maintaining apparatus, equipment, and station amenities.
- Participates in community outreach and education.
- Assists with new employee onboarding as requested.
- Maintains membership and actively participates in appropriate external professional organizations and community activities.
- Acts as a resource to the Emergency Department and other hospital departments when appropriate.
- Expected to maintain and increase own knowledge through formal and informal education.

Education & Experience
- Minimum education required: EMT-Basic certification in the State of Indiana
- Minimum experience preferred: 1 year experience in similar field
- Minimum certification required: EMT-Basic certification in the State of Indiana, BLS/CPR certification.
- Minimum certification preferred: National Registry for EMT-Basic
- Minimum licensure required: Valid Indiana's driver's license and preapproval for Reid vehicle insurance
