Director, Quality Management

Rehabilitation Support Services is a community-based mental health provider dedicated to delivering evidence-based care. We are seeking a Total Quality Management (TQM) professional to lead and support quality initiatives across the program and services our agency provides. The right candidate will combine a solid foundation in quality management with a client-centered approach to ensure services meet the highest standards of safety, effectiveness, and accessibility.

Hours and Benefits:

· 40 hour work week, Monday through Friday

Salary:

· $85,000 to $95,000 Annually

Requirements for the Director, Quality Management:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, or Public Health.
• 3-5 years of experience in Total Quality Management, Quality Assurance, or Continuous Improvement, preferably in healthcare, behavioral health, social services, or community-based settings.
• Familiarity with Quality Management System concepts and regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to health and mental health care (HIPAA, state licensing, accreditation standards).
• Basic proficiency with data analysis tools (excel, experience with data dashboards, and quality tracking).
• Experience with internal audits, incident reporting, risk assessment, and corrective actions.
• Strong problem-solving communication, teamwork skills, ability to influence without formal authority.
• Client centered orientation.

Preferred Skills:

• Formal quality certifications or coursework (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean, Continuous Quality Improvement).
• Experience in Behavioral Health or human service settings.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (HER) and privacy regulations (HIPAA).
• Experience with performance improvement projects and outcome measurement in mental health services.

Responsibilities for the Director, Quality Management:

• Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a Quality Management System aligned with relevant standards and mental health best practices.
• Facilitate root-cause analyses, corrective and preventive actions, and problem-solving using tools.
• Help define and monitor quality metrics related to client outcomes, access to care, wait times, safety incidents, and satisfaction.
• Assist with internal audits and compliance with applicable regulatory and funding requirements (e.g. state licensing, OMIG, Justice Center, CMS)
• Collaborate with clinicians, case managers, administrators, and front-line staff to map processes, standardize workflows, and reduce variations in care.
• Support incident reporting, client safety initiatives, and risk management activities.
• Assist with supplier and partner quality activities where relevant (contracts, service quality)
• Maintain documentation, dashboards, and reporting to leadership with clear actionable insights.
