Job Description
Regions Hospital has a great career opportunity for a Quality Improvement Consultant or a Senior Quality Improvement Consultant to join our team. This is a hybrid remote position that will work onsite in Saint Paul weekly. This is not a fully remote position. Employees must reside in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, or South Dakota, and have a reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work free from interruptions.
The Quality Improvement Consultant actively partners with leaders to improve operations and quality through project management, initiative support, and process improvement. This role encompasses acting as a consultant in performance improvement methods, systems thinking, change management, team facilitation, and data analysis at organizational, departmental, process, and individual levels. This role manages all aspects of mid-sized to major projects in support of organizational strategic goals. As a Quality Improvement Consultant, this position mentors and coaches individuals and teams in improvement methods, project management, change management, group dynamics, and planning methods, and is responsible for selecting and implementing solutions, and developing appropriate monitors and control plans to ensure implementation and hardwiring of improvement/change.
Learning and incorporating new technology to enhance meeting accountability and engagement is crucial to this role, as is intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as spreadsheets and word processing applications, and experience using online meeting and sharing platforms, such as WebEx, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or SharePoint to effectively lead projects remotely when needed. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with constructive dissatisfaction with the status quo and a drive for improvement using strategic thinking skills while collaborating internally and externally.

This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and eligible for benefits. Work Schedule
- Monday-Friday, day shift. 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) working in St. Paul, MN.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5-7 years of relevant work experience with 3-5 years of project management experience (non-senior quality improvement: 3-4 years of relevant experience with 2-3 years project management experience)
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Process improvement
- Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA
- Project Management
- Change Management
- Proven experience in managing successful projects of small to large scale
- Experience with online meeting and sharing platforms, such as WebEx, MS Teams, and SharePoint to effectively lead projects remotely when needed.
- Must be willing to learn and incorporate new technology to enhance meeting accountability and engagement.
- Team member will be expected to have intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft office products, such as spreadsheets and word processing applications, as well as usual and customary office equipment.
- Reside in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, or South Dakota, and have a reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work free from interruptions, with the ability to work onsite in Saint Paul weekly.
- Master’s degree in business, engineering, technology, or a health care related field preferred.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience for managing the complete project and/or PDSA cycle including defining and scoping new opportunities, creating deliverables and monitoring status with progress reports to key stakeholders.
- Experience with EMR (Epic).
- Certified in Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) change methodology, Six Sigma, Lean or related quality improvement methods
- Change Management Certification
- PMP certification
- CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality)
