This position is responsible for carrying out Medical Equipment Management Plan as directed by department manager. May advance to Clinical Engineering Technician II with demonstrated experience when there is a business need or an opening at the Clinical Engineering Technician II level.
The Clinical Engineering Technician I Is Responsible For
Required Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an approved clinical engineering electronics program or graduate of an approved electronics program or equivalent experience
Experience: 0 to 2 years’ experience in clinical engineering electronics
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the insurability requirements relating to Region’s Hospital motor vehicle violation criteria.

The Clinical Engineering Technician I Is Responsible For
- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance as well as scheduled services and related technical activities with close supervision, on medical equipment
- Work closely with internal care departments to plan and coordinate projects related to key medical equipment.
- Maintain an electronic equipment inventory, parts inventory, and work order documentation System.
- Maintain equipment conditions assessment of major medical equipment.
- Communicate with customers regarding equipment status and proper operation of equipment.
- Works with and assist other technical staff to ensure consistency in operations.
- Solves practical problems and deals with situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schematic form.
- Responsible for customer satisfaction and problem resolutions and identifies areas for process improvement.
- Provide in-service training, presentations, and orientations for equipment.
