✨ Position: Tax Supervisor
The Tax Supervisor performs tax related duties at the professional level and to ensure effective and efficient delivery of quality tax services relating to the day-to-day operations of the department. The Tax Supervisor works to develop leading abilities through supervisory assignments and tasks in assisting staff accountants. The Tax Supervisor is responsible for preparing and analyzing tax records and reports; processes local, state, and federal tax returns and prepares claims for tax refunds; assists in completing statistical and financial reports as requested; maintains tax records and prepares miscellaneous tax studies, reconciliations, journal entries, and records. The Tax Supervisor keeps managers informed of area activities and significant problems.

✔️ What You’ll Do
- Attains specialized knowledge in at least 1 area of individual or business taxation
- Reviews and preparation of individual and business taxes (1040, 1041, 1120, 1120S, and 1065)
- Uses research tools as appropriate to answer questions during tax planning assignments and return prep review
- Identifies tax situations with potential planning opportunities and makes informed recommendation to the responsible person
- Prepares supporting work papers as assigned
- May assist in representing client during tax exams
- Maintains work papers and contemporaneous records of client contacts
- May participate in client meetings; contacts clients for additional information or clarification as needed
- Supervises and mentors other tax accountants for their skill and expertise development
- General knowledge of payroll tax issues that may impact assigned clients
- Detailed knowledge of property taxes, excise taxes applicable to assigned clients
- Familiar with general bookkeeping packages (Peachtree and/or QuickBooks)
- Proficient with Profx
- Proficient with AuditVision/linking techniques
- Demonstrates organizational skills, proven interpersonal skills; able to provide complex confidential administrative support with tact and diplomacy
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- A minimum of three years work experience in public accounting
- Experience with the supervision and mentoring of other accountants
- Specialized knowledge in at least one area of estate, gift or trust taxation (preferred).
Competitive Compensation
- Salary range: $103,000-$110,000
- Final offer based on location, experience, skills, licensure, and business need
