Role
Our client is seeking a Development Associate to support the delivery of an impressive and diverse pipeline of large-scale development projects. Reporting directly to the Head of Development, this role offers broad exposure across the full project lifecycle, from acquisition and feasibility through planning, design, delivery, and project completion.
The ideal candidate will have gained hands-on experience across multiple phases of the development process and be eager to further develop their capabilities within a highly active and growing platform. This is an opportunity to work closely with an experienced development leader, contributing to a range of complex projects while building a comprehensive understanding of the development lifecycle.
Role responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Manage the creation, maintenance and be overall responsible for schedules for all deliverables required to execute the project(s), including acquisition, design, permits and approvals, construction, sales/leasing and marketing and project close-out activities.
- Prepare and maintain detailed financial models and project pro formas to assess development feasibility, forecast returns, and support investment decision-making.
- Solicit, manage, level and present proposals for consultants and sub-consultants required for projects assigned.
- Build and maintain relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.)
- Manage the coordination of architectural and engineering disciplines as well as the functions of budgeting, contracting, scheduling, bidding, negotiating, purchasing and value engineering.
Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Real Estate Development, Construction Management, Architecture or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of significant experience, with a portion of that experience having been within a Real Estate development/Investment organization
- Experience contributing to all stages of the development lifecycle, from project origination and feasibility assessment through planning, design, procurement, construction, and final project completion.
- Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively
