Dietary Storekeeper

Reporting to the Food and Nutrition Services Director, the Food Service Worker is expected to perform a variety of duties according to all the standards, policies and procedures applicable to Redlands Community Hospital. This includes, but is not limited to patient tray assembly, delivery, tray audits and diabetic patient tray deliveries. This position handles calls from patients for meal orders, processes meal orders and updates information in the room service menu system, assists patients with menu selection to ensure the order follows the physician diet orders, assists with patient tray assembly and delivery according to all the standards, policies and procedures applicable to Redlands Community Hospital. This position handles a high volume via the telephone and interacts with patients, facility staff, and nursing. The room service operator also generates reports, and performs basic word processing and administrative tasks. This position is also responsible for ordering, inventory, receiving and storing food and supplies necessary for the patient services, cafeteria and catering. All food and supplies must meet quality standards as well as ordering and budget guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Education or Equivalent, preferred. College level nutrition classes, recommended.
• 1 Year of food service experience preferably in health care required.
• Intermediate experience with word processing and computer skills, preferred.
• 1 Year of food production, buying or procurement experience preferred.
• Food Handler’s Card issued by San Bernardino County required.
