Human Resources Specialist
Redlands Community College invites applications for a Human Resources Specialist. This full‑time support staff position includes an excellent benefits package and provides important assistance to the daily operations of the Human Resources Office. Primary responsibilities include supporting payroll processing, maintaining personnel records, assisting with benefits administration, helping coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding, supporting recruitment activities, and assisting with digital workflow management. The Human Resources Specialist helps ensure the timely preparation of payroll‑related information and provides courteous support to employees, supervisors, and applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Process hourly and full‑time payroll, including verification of hours worked, deductions, benefits, and leave balances.
- Support benefits administration by helping update payroll information related to enrollments, terminations, life events, and retirement changes.
- Maintain accurate personnel and payroll records, HR forms, communication templates, and process documentation.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes and ensure completion of all required employment forms.
- Assist employees and supervisors with HR systems, documentation requirements, and digital workflow navigation.
- Maintain HR digital workflows, including DocuSign webforms, and the HR public drive.
- Assist with recruitment activities, including posting vacancies, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and supporting hiring committees. Conduct background checks and process/review reference checks.
- Process employee status changes and prepare employment verifications.
- Prepare and assist with routine HR reports, required state and federal reporting.
- Participate in institutional committees and support emergency operations as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- High level of accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, and confidentiality are all essential.
- Strong organizational, time‑management, and multi‑tasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn and use HR systems and digital workflow tools, such as DocuSign and Ellucian Colleague.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- College education or coursework in Human Resources, business, or a related field.
- Experience in Human Resources, payroll, benefits administration, or related administrative work.
- Experience in higher education or a similar organizational environment.

Clery Statement
Redlands Community College is committed to providing a safe place to live, work, study and visit. Part of this effort includes sharing information regarding the safety and security of our campuses.
Redlands provides email notifications to all students, faculty and staff when a Clery Crime occurs in or near Redlands Community College campus or any of its sites. These notifications are primarily sent if the incident poses an ongoing safety threat as determined by the President of the College or his designee.
