Job Summary
I-5 Design Build is seeking a dependable, experienced Commercial Master Electrician to lead and perform electrical work for our commercial design-build construction and manufacturing projects.
Role
This is a hands-on role focused primarily on electrical and lighting systems integrated into custom-manufactured architectural features and specialty fabrication projects, including:
- Custom furnishings with integrated electrical systems
- Architectural lighting installations
- Specialty light fixtures and chandeliers
- LED-illuminated assemblies and decorative ceiling features
- Food & beverage-related casework and millwork systems
- Low-voltage and programmable lighting controls
Responsibilities
Electrical Scope Leadership
- Lead electrical and lighting installation for custom architectural and commercial projects
- Perform wiring, terminations, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical and low-voltage systems
- Ensure all work complies with NEC requirements, local codes, and project specifications
- Maintain high standards for safety, quality, craftsmanship, and professionalism
- Coordinate with production managers, shop foremen, project managers, and site superintendents
- Assist with planning, scheduling, layout, and execution of electrical scope
- Supervise, mentor, and support electricians and installation team members
- Participate in field installations and project travel as needed
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, one-lines, and project specifications
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, lighting controls, and low-voltage equipment
- Work with architectural lighting systems and specialty fabricated components
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Licenses & Certifications
- Active Washington State Master Electrician License
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- OSHA 30 Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Strong working knowledge of NEC and commercial electrical systems
- Ability to independently read and execute from construction plans and specifications
- Experience with clamp meters, megohmmeters, and power quality analyzers
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- High level of accountability, craftsmanship, and attention to detail
- Clear communication skills with crews, vendors, and project leadership
- Willingness and ability to travel for project installations as needed
- Multi-state Master Electrician licensing or reciprocal licensing experience
- Experience with architectural, theatrical, or decorative lighting systems
- Experience with lighting control systems including DMX-512, DALI, and 0–10V controls
- Experience installing and wiring LED video walls or display systems
- NICET certification or related low-voltage/fire alarm experience
