Responsibilities
DOT & OHSA Safety Guidelines
- Oversee compliance with all applicable FMCSA and DOT regulations, including those affecting CDL and non-CDL commercial motor vehicles
- Ensure proper administration and auditing of:
- Driver Qualification Files
- Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs)
- Medical certifications (as applicable)
- Hours of Service (where required)
- Vehicle inspection and maintenance records
- Drug & alcohol testing programs (as applicable)
- Standardize transportation compliance policies and SOPs across all states of operation
- Monitor federal and state transportation laws and ensure timely implementation of changes
- Lead preparation and response efforts for DOT audits, investigations, and roadside inspections
- Establish fleet safety KPIs and performance tracking across all locations
- Ensure OSHA compliance across warehouse, loading dock, and event production environments
- Partner with third party compliance parties to develop and enforce safety procedures related to:
- Material handling
- Forklift and equipment operation
- Loading/unloading practices
- Fall protection
- Ergonomics and injury prevention
- Conduct multi-site safety audits and risk assessments
- Analyze incidents, injuries, vehicle accidents, and near-miss events
- Standardize safety training for warehouse and logistics teams across all states.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal environmental and EPA regulations
- Oversee state-specific environmental regulatory compliance and conduct risk assessments
- Ensure proper permitting, reporting and documentation for multi-state operations
- Drive measurable reductions in:
- Vehicle incidents
- OSHA recordable injuries
- Workers’ compensation claims
- Compliance violations
- Partner with Insurance carriers and analyze incident data/loss trends to proactively identify systemic risks
- Partner with HR and Operations leadership on safety performance
- Implement company-wide DOT and OSHA safety training
- Provide leadership reporting on safety and compliance
- Lead safety committee structure and establish consistent expectations across all markets
- Promote a culture of proactive hazard identification and reporting
- Travel regularly to all company locations to ensure consistent execution of compliance standards (those states include but not limited to, NC, SC, TN, MD, VA, GA, CA & FL. Conduct annual location audits.)
- Align safety programs with varying state's regulations
- Serve as the company’s primary liaison with regulatory agencies as required
- Maintain high integrity and strong ethical standards
- Drive measurable reduction in incidents, violations and claims through data-driven strategy and a culture of shared safety ownership
- Anticipate gaps, identify systemic risks, and design preventative controls

- Partner with Operations, Warehouse, HR and Executive Leadership to embed safety and compliance into company culture. Influences accountability at all levels
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Safety Management, Transportation, Logistics, Business, or related field) or equivalent experience
- 4 years of experience in DOT compliance, fleet safety, and OSHA leadership
- Strong knowledge of:
- FMCSA regulations
- Non-CDL commercial vehicle requirements
- OSHA warehouse and logistics safety standards
- Experience in warehouse logistics, distribution, construction or event production environments is strongly preferred
- Familiar with insurance coverage lines for WC, GL and Auto
- Proven success by reducing incident rates and improving compliance metrics
- Experience managing safety across multiple states and locations
- Strong auditing skills
- Ability to influence operational leaders and drive accountability
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Salary : $130,000 - $140,000
