Job Summary

Position Overview: The Development Manager is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding mid-level donors to sustain and grow the organization’s annual fundraising program. This role blends relationship management, research, and direct outreach to ensure consistent engagement and financial support for the organization’s strategic goals and political initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Directly contact and cultivate relationships with mid-level donors through calls, emails, and scheduled follow-ups.
• Conduct donor research to identify giving capacity, interests, and engagement opportunities.
• Develop and execute personalized cultivation and solicitation strategies for assigned donor portfolios.
• Make direct donation asks via phone, email, or in-person meetings.
• Track all outreach, communications, and donor interactions in the organization's CRM.
• Coordinate with senior development staff on renewal and upgrade strategies to move donors toward major giving levels.
• Draft donor communications, acknowledgment letters, and briefing materials as needed.
• Generate regular progress reports on portfolio performance and prospect pipeline.
• Support other development projects and organizational priorities as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in political science, communications, fundraising, sales or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in political fundraising, nonprofit development, or sales.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in making direct donor asks.
• Proven ability to manage multiple donor relationships and meet fundraising goals.
• Experience with donor research tools and CRM/database management (e.g., Bloomerang, Salesforce).
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Committed to the mission and values of the organization, with a keen understanding of political advocacy work.
