Position Summary
The Transportation Manager oversees a freight terminal responsible arranging transportation for all issue transactions.
Essential Functions Of The Position
Directs employees engaged in planning outbound shipping loads, scheduling movement of outbound shipments to include air, surface, small parcel, and sea IAW all applicable contracts, DFTS, SDDC Global Freight Management System (GFMS) applications, and completing required documentation and data entry functions to include Bills of Lading (BOLs), manifests and all other forms of transportation documentation. Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on projected workload on a weekly or monthly basis.

- Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences IAW general work schedules, methods, and policies established by the Site Manager and/or Alternate Site Manager.
- Redirects workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations.
- Conducts planning of current and future work schedules, providing workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as to the scheduling of projected work.
- Ensures work is done properly and efficiently IAW the terms and condition of the contract.
- Uses WMS and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements in the PWS.
- Performs other relevant duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
- Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
- Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
- Fully knowledgeable in all Government and Commercial Traffic Management functions and processes.
- Experience shall include a minimum three (3) years of experience in inventory using WMS or equivalent automated WMS within the past five (5) years.
- Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
- Must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Must have strong organizational and group presentation skills.
- Well-developed multi-tasking and time management skills.
- Must have computer literacy skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Possess a Valid Drivers’ License without special restrictions.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must undergo a background check.
