Job Title: Janitor / Custodian (Facilities)
Location: Red Lodge Mountain – Red Lodge, MT
Reports To: Facilities Manager
Status: Seasonal | Non-Exempt
Typical Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (must be available weekends/holidays)

If you take pride in a spotless space, don’t mind winter doing winter things, and love the satisfaction of a job done right—this is your lane. As a Janitor, you’re the behind-the-scenes MVP keeping our public spaces clean, stocked, and guest-ready from base area to on-mountain buildings.
Key Responsibilities (Your Daily Mission)
- Clean all RLM facilities, including base area and on-mountain locations
- Keep bathrooms cleaned, stocked, and ready throughout the day
- Empty and transport garbage and recycling
- Assist with snow removal (shoveling/snow blowing)
- Support other departments with cleaning/maintenance needs
- Communicate effectively in person and via phone/two-way radio
- Travel to various facilities as needed (may include snowmobile, chairlift, or snow grooming machines)
Required Qualifications (What You Bring)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- General janitorial/cleaning skills
- Self-motivated, efficient, and dependable
- Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends/holidays
- Reliable transportation and ability to safely drive in adverse winter conditions
- Ability to safely travel to mountainside buildings via chairlifts, skiing, or snowboarding
- Ability to move snow, stand/walk for extended periods, and move safely in varying terrain conditions
- Intermediate skier or snowboarder
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Prior janitorial/custodial experience
- Experience working with the public and providing strong customer service
- Knowledge of the ski industry
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions (Real Talk)
- Stand/walk 90% of an 8-hour shift; lift/move 50 lbs
- Work on uneven terrain and in snow/ice; shovel snow; bend/stoop
- Frequent outdoor winter work in extreme cold, wind, and wet conditions; may work near moving mechanical parts
