At Red Fire Farm, we’ve been growing certified organic produce since 2001, cultivating a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, flowers, and plants to share with our local community.
We’re seeking a Farm Store Lead for our Granby location to drive daily productivity, store standards, and customer service as we operate our self-serve stand and transition into a brand-new retail building featuring integrated POS registers.
This active, hands-on leadership role blends customer service, retail operations, team guidance, and transition support—creating a welcoming, well-run store that highlights the best of the farm.
You’ll lead shift tasks, guide the crew, maintain fresh visual displays, set an efficient pace, and assist management with stock relocation, POS testing, and workflow adaptation during our exciting move.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening/closing routines, self-serve payment monitoring, cash handling, and maintaining a clean, safe space
- Lead and support the team—directing shift activities, training staff, and keeping everyone motivated and on track
- Manage products and displays, including as-needed ordering, pricing, FIFO stocking, and logging perishables
- Keep the store fresh and engaging through crisp visual merchandising and seasonal updates
- Assist management with new building transition planning, including space layout, stock relocation, and POS testing
- Complete sales documentation, reconcile daily revenue, and prepare bank deposits as needed during manager absence or coverage
- Ensure a great customer experience, coordinate with farm staff, and help resolve any shift issues
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Strong leadership and people skills
- Customer-focused with a welcoming presence and knack for sales
- Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Retail experience (or similar farm stand background) is helpful
- Comfortable lifting 30–50 lbs and working outdoors
- Basic computer and POS system skills
- Interest in local food and farming
Helpful Skills:
- Keyholder and cash handling experience, revenue reconciliation, and bank deposit preparation
- Sales aptitude and comfort with active product promotion
- Understanding of produce, plants, growing cycles, and farm operations
LOCATION: Position located at 7 Carver St in Granby, MA.
SCHEDULE: Part-time with open/flexible schedule availability, including weekends. Some schedule flexibility necessary to cover shifts if needed.
