The Role:
The Production Supervisor provides area leadership and direct supervision of all Assembly and Shipping employees for all day-to-day operations. This leader is also responsible for maintaining the highest standards of product quality and timely delivery to meet customer expectations and achieve corporate objectives. You will be directly responsible for the safety, staffing, performance, efficiency, utilization, on-time delivery, and quality of all work in the Assembly and Shipping departments and is expected to constantly monitor and help control labor and material costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Talent Development: Lead the full employee lifecycle for assembly and shipping teams—including interviewing, hiring, and performance management—while mentoring team leads to ensure a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Production Planning & Execution: Strategically manage daily production schedules, staffing assignments, and workflows based on sales forecasts and capacity to guarantee 100% on-time work order completion and customer shipments.
- Quality & Safety Oversight: Maintain rigorous standards through spot-checks and visual reviews of outgoing products to eliminate defects and transit damage, while strictly enforcing OSHA compliance and all company safety programs.
- Operational Efficiency & Troubleshooting: Proactively identify and resolve process inefficiencies or material bottlenecks, utilizing data-driven strategies (6S, ECNs) to optimize work center utilization and minimize downtime.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting: Partner daily with other departments to track material progress and present weekly performance metrics (Efficiency, Utilization, and On-Time Delivery) to senior leadership.
Ideal Experience:
- Experiential: 10 years of manufacturing experience with 5 years minimum as a lead/supervisor.
- Educational: Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing-related discipline is highly desirable. Associate degree in manufacturing or related technical area is desirable. Experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Certificates, Licenses: Forklift operator certification / valid driver’s license.
