TITLE: Supervisor/Manufacturing
POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Supervisor will support and guide machine operators in efficiently running their machines. This role requires a hands-on approach, with the supervisor being actively involved in learning and operating machines.
Positions open for first and second shifts Monday - Friday with some Saturdays.
Training is required on first shift.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting and maintaining production machinery.
- Prior experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in food packaging.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly and act decisively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly instruct and support machine operators.
- Bilingual Spanish is required.
- Willingness to learn and operate new machinery, with an ability to adapt to changing production needs.
- Ability to manage time effectively balancing supervision, troubleshooting, and learning new equipment.
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Learn to operate various machines used in the production of food packaging products.
- Provide day-to-day supervision and support to machine operators, ensuring machines are running efficiently and production goals are met.
- Assist operators in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues with machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining production flow.
- Train and mentor machine operators on best practices, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing issues as they arise to ensure smooth operation across the production floor.
- Monitor production quality to ensure products meet all relevant standards and specifications.
- Ensure all production activities comply with company safety policies and industry regulations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
- Fast-paced production floor with exposure to machinery noise and variable temperatures.
- Must adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of PPE.
TRAINING:
- Machine training will be required upon hire.
- Must complete ongoing training as required.
MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:
- Must have experience with basic hand tools.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Software.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift and carry heavy materials as needed.
- Dexterity to operate and repair machinery.
