Job Summary
Safely operate overhead cranes to lift, position, and move materials throughout the production floor while maintaining compliance with all company safety policies and operational procedures.
Essential Functions
- Safely operate overhead cranes within the fabrication shop and production areas.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of cranes to ensure equipment is functioning properly and safely.
- Inspect chains, slings, hooks, and all rigging attachments prior to use.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate crane movements and ensure a safe work environment.
- Understand and adhere to crane load limits and proper rigging practices.
- Follow all Red Dot safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and company guidelines.
- Maintain current knowledge of company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Participate in all required safety meetings and training programs provided by Red Dot.
Training Requirements
To Perform This Role Successfully, Employees Must
- Complete the required crane safety training video.
- Read and sign the Crane Operator Job Description.
- Demonstrate safe crane operation to the East Side Supervisor.
- Demonstrate the ability to safely operate all assigned equipment.
- Comply with all requirements outlined in Red Dot’s Safety Manual.
- Support safety initiatives and productivity improvement projects within the fabrication shop.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
