Job Overview
We are seeking an individual for full-time employment in our Wadesboro office to work one-on-one with our local Wadesboro personal injury/wrongful death/products liability/premises liability attorney. Responsibilities include drafting and responding to pleadings and motions, dealing with experts to include scheduling conferences and coordinating depositions, managing discovery and discovery and expert disclosures and deadlines, managing cases, meeting with clients, assisting the attorney, drafting and answering discovery requests, assisting with trial preparation and scheduling, as well as substantive case duties including research and drafting of memos and other legal documents.
Solid history of handling high level pre-litigation and litigation cases in personal injury, medical malpractice. Proficiency in legal systems, legal research, medical record analysis, briefs and negotiations.
We believe in talking to our clients. We do not believe in making our legal assistants and paralegals the sole client contact. While you will talk to clients, so will the attorney.
Candidates must possess the following:
- Experience as a personal injury, wrongful death, products liability or premises liability paralegal
- 2 or 4 year degree
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
- Strong computer and typing skills (50 words per minute)
- Ability to speak and write well
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Tenacity and strong work ethic
- Willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done
- Initiative
- Excellent attendance
Paralegal certification through the N.C. State Bar is preferred but not required. Experience in any of the fields of personal injury/wrongful death/products and premises liability is required. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Candidate must be able to work five days a week, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. A remote or partially-remote position will be considered for the right candidate.
