About the Role
Seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the daily maintenance operations of its aircraft fleet at the Georgetown, Texas campus. This individual will lead a team of aircraft maintenance technicians, ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company maintenance programs, coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, and maintain maximum aircraft availability to support flight operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on aviation maintenance leader with strong organizational, leadership, and regulatory knowledge who can effectively manage people, priorities, and maintenance operations in a fast-paced flight training environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the aircraft maintenance department.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop A&P mechanics and maintenance personnel.
- Plan, schedule, and prioritize scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with FAA regulations, company policies, and manufacturer requirements.
- Maintain aircraft airworthiness and maximize fleet availability.
- Coordinate inspections, repairs, and maintenance with flight operations to minimize downtime.
- Review maintenance documentation, aircraft logbooks, and regulatory records for accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor maintenance quality and ensure all work meets company and FAA standards.
- Manage maintenance inventory, tools, equipment, and vendor relationships.
- Support troubleshooting of complex maintenance issues and provide technical guidance when needed.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized maintenance facility.
- Participate in hiring, training, performance evaluations, and employee development.
- Collaborate with other departments to support operational goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required.
- Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of General Aviation aircraft maintenance experience.
- Previous experience supervising or managing aircraft maintenance teams preferred.
- Strong knowledge of FAA Part 43 and Part 91 regulations.
- Experience with Piper aircraft preferred.
- Garmin G1000 experience is a plus.
- Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (Talon RMS or similar preferred).
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work both indoors and outdoors.
