Reputable, high growth manufacturing company is looking for a strong Corporate Controller to lead its financial operations and ensure robust internal controls, regulatory compliance, and long-term financial planning.
The Corporate Controller will be a key leadership position responsible for overseeing accounting functions, financial reporting, tax strategy, risk management, budgeting, and benefit program oversight. The ideal candidate brings a mix of strategic thinking and operational precision, along with the ability to lead and scale a finance team in a complex business manufacturing environment.
**$185,000–$230,000 25-30% Bonus**
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting Oversight: Manage core accounting functions across the organization, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, cost accounting, and month-end close.
- SEC Reporting & Controls: Oversee the preparation and review of periodic financial statements and SEC filings, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain and enhance internal control frameworks and compliance processes related to financial reporting and operational risk.
- Tax Management: Lead the coordination and review of corporate tax filings across multiple jurisdictions, including income, payroll, and indirect taxes.
- Employee Benefits Oversight: Partner with HR and external providers to support administration and compliance of retirement and health benefit programs.
- Leadership & Team Development: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing finance team. Drive process improvements, performance management, and departmental alignment with business goals.
What You Bring
- Proven leadership and team management experience within a finance or accounting function within the manufacturing space
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Experience with cost accounting/inventory accounting
- High ethical standards and sound judgment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA required)
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial experience
- Strong proficiency with Excel and other financial tools; capable of working with large, complex data sets
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a track record of meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment
Preferred But Not Required
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or CMA designation
- Experience in a regulated environment or public company setting
- Familiarity with enterprise financial systems (ERP), particularly during implementation or upgrades
