We’re partnering with a respected steel fabrication/erection organization in search of a Sr. Structural Steel Project Manager who thrives in complex, fast-moving environments and takes ownership from pre-con fabrication through final installation of large commercial and industrial builds. If you’ve led steel erection projects. balanced budgets and timelines. and built strong relationships with customers and partners. this could be your next defining role.

As a Sr. Project Manager, you are the connective tissue between fabrication, field execution, vendors, and customers. Your leadership ensures projects stay aligned with scope, budget, quality, and safety while moving forward with purpose and momentum.
You won’t just manage projects. You’ll influence how they are built.
What You’ll Be Trusted to Lead
- Drive multiple structural steel projects simultaneously using formal project management methods.
- Establish and manage project schedules. milestones. and deliverables.
- Oversee fabrication planning and production timelines.
- Review and evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals.
- Coordinate subcontractors. suppliers. and internal teams.
- Communicate progress related to schedule. cost. quality. and safety to stakeholders.
- Negotiate and manage change orders with confidence and clarity.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Lead process improvements on projects that may set standards beyond a single job.
- Manage vendor performance and long-term partnerships.
- Identify resource and equipment needs. manage capacity planning. and ensure systems availability.
- Prepare and present project information to internal teams and external partners.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university highly desired but deep industry experience is absolutely considered in lieu of.
- Five or more years in commercial or industrial construction, with at least five years managing structural steel erection projects.
- Experience with fabrication and detailing is a strong plus.
- Strong communication skills- written and verbal.
- Analytical thinking and practical problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Technical Expertise That Sets You Apart
- Working knowledge of AISC steel construction standards.
- Understanding of construction codes and best practices.
- PMP certification - not required but big bonus.
- Experience with FabSuite, Trimble Connect, Tekla, Tekla Structures, and Tekla EPM is highly valued.
