We are seeking an experienced Contractor – Senior Quality Engineer to join the team in Goleta, CA for a contract assignment of up to 6 months.
This role will support quality assurance efforts for rollout solar array programs and help ensure the highest standards of product quality across critical aerospace technology projects.
The Senior Quality Engineer will play a key role in maintaining and improving product quality through program quality assurance, root cause analysis, corrective action, customer quality support, and cross-functional collaboration. This individual will work closely with program management, engineering, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams to help deliver defect-free products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with program managers, engineers, and manufacturing teams to develop and implement quality assurance plans, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal quality expectations.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on quality performance metrics while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits to ensure compliance with applicable quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide quality support and communication to customers and internal stakeholders throughout the program lifecycle.
Ideal Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a STEM-related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of quality engineering experience, preferably within aerospace, defense, or space technology environments.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and standards, including ISO 9001 and AS9100 is preferred
- Proven experience leading or supporting root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, engineering teams, manufacturing teams, and program leadership.
- Proficiency with quality management software, tools, and documentation systems.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person as defined by ITAR requirements.
