Long Island Treatment Center is searching for a long term Per-Diem Group Facilitator (CASAC / CASAC-T / QHP-limited permit) to join our team of healthcare professionals. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team and lead engaging and impactful group therapy sessions in the outpatient setting. The organization is dedicated to providing the best possible care to clients, and that starts with forward-thinking mental health professionals who are eager to enhance their programming. The Group Facilitator is an individual with hands-on experience and knowledge regarding the nature and treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction. The Group facilitator is flexible and willing to learn new approaches, and can adapt the style to meet the diverse needs of group members.
Qualifications And Skills
Group Scheduling is typically 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m.-3 p.m. during the week.
This role involves one of these shifts 2-3 days per week.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in social work, psychology or related human services field.
- CASAC / CASAC-T / QHP-(limited permit accepted)
- Two years of work experience in substance abuse and mental health field.
- Familiar with 12-Step programs
- Develop and implement innovative group activities and strategies to promote client growth and well-being
- Bring a fresh, enthusiastic perspective to traditional clinical approaches, while remaining well-versed in a variety of therapeutic modalities
- Foster a warm, empathetic, and sophisticated group environment that encourages open communication and connection
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure high-quality care and programming.
- Responsible to complete all group notes in a timely manner
- Document all services provided in EMR.
- Knowledge of company’s policy and procedures and Joint Commission standards and regulations. Adhere to all regulations and documentation requirements in regards to client care and compliance of all client care.
- Participates in staff meetings, providing training with regard to therapeutic services and mental health topics.
- Collaborates with Clinical Director and Treatment Team to help develop comprehensive and therapeutic group treatment
- Responsible to complete all group notes in a timely manner.
- Document all services provided in EMR.
- Knowledge of company’s policy and procedures and Joint Commission standards and regulations. Adhere to all regulations and documentation requirements in regards to client care and compliance of all client care.
- Participates in staff meetings, providing training with regard to therapeutic services and mental health topics.
- Participates in Supervision as needed
- Must have experience with facilitating both substance abuse didactic and process groups.
- Successful candidate must submit to post offer, physical examination/medical history check, and TB test.
- Must maintain license and certification required by state law in good standing.
- Must hold a CASAC, CASAC-T or other QHP status (limited permit accepted)
