Medical Records and Admission Coordinator (RHIT/A)

Be part of a team that helps patients rebuild their lives. We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Records & Admissions Coordinator to support both the clinical and administrative sides of our Neuro Rehabilitation Hospital.

This role is critical in ensuring a smooth admissions experience for patients and families while maintaining accurate, compliant medical records in a fast-paced, specialized care environment.

Position Overview

The Medical Records & Admissions Coordinator manages the patient intake process and oversees the integrity of medical records for individuals recovering from neurological injuries and conditions. This role requires strong organization, empathy, and the ability to balance patient interaction with detailed administrative work.

Qualifications

Required:

• RHIT or RHIA certification (or eligibility)
• Strong computer skills and experience working in EMR systems
• High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  
  
  

Preferred:

• Experience in healthcare admissions, medical records, or healthcare administration
• Experience in a hospital, rehabilitation, or neuro/brain injury setting
• Knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, and referrals
• Understanding of HIPAA and medical documentation standards
