Life Skills Director

The Life Skills Director is responsible for developing and executing individualized and group-based life skills programming focused on real-world independence. This includes training in areas such as grocery shopping, budgeting, personal care, community navigation, and daily routine development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive life skills program tailored to neuro rehab patients
• Provide hands-on training and coaching to patients in real-life scenarios
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, therapy, and case management
• Adapt programming to meet varying cognitive, behavioral, and physical abilities
• Track patient progress and adjust goals as needed
• Participate in ongoing training related to brain injury recovery and rehabilitation best practices
• Support a positive, patient-centered environment that promotes independence and dignity

Qualifications

• Experience in Therapy, Social Services, or rehabilitation settings recommended
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both patients and clinical staff
• Ability to break down complex tasks into simple, teachable steps
• Experience working with individuals with cognitive, behavioral, or neurological conditions preferred.
• Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), Social work, or related background strongly preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a rehab or healthcare setting preferred.
