Internship Overview
The Investment Management Internship provides hands-on experience within the firm’s investment management function. Interns will work closely with our Investment Analyst and advisory team, gaining exposure to portfolio construction, investment research, and trading operations.
This internship is designed for individuals interested in pursuing careers in investment management, portfolio analysis, or securities research, and offers valuable insight into the investment decision-making process within a financial advisory firm.
Interns will gain exposure to a sophisticated, institutional-quality technology stack used to support portfolio management, trading, and research, including:
- Portfolio and planning systems such as Advyzon, Morningstar Advisor Workstation, iRebal, and Altruist
- Trading and execution platforms including Interactive Brokers
- Research and data sources such as Morningstar and the SEC EDGAR database
- Analytics tools and proprietary systems including Thinkpipes, Ethos, and internally developed applications
- AI and productivity tools including ChatGPT Teams and Claude (Professional and Coding)
We continuously invest in and build custom tools to enhance our investment process and maintain a differentiated, technology-forward approach.
Interns will participate in shadowing, mentorship, research projects, and operational support initiatives throughout the internship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the investment team with investment research and market analysis
- Support analysis of securities, ETFs, mutual funds, and portfolio strategies
- Observe and assist with portfolio rebalancing and trading processes
- Help review portfolio allocations and identify opportunities for improvement
- Assist with account monitoring, reporting, and reconciliation tasks
- Support documentation and improvement of investment management processes
- Learn and apply the firm’s investment philosophy and portfolio management approach
Qualifications
We are looking for motivated individuals interested in building a career in investment management or financial markets.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field
- Rising junior or senior at a four-year institution preferred
- Strong interest in investment analysis, financial markets, and portfolio management
- Interest in pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team
- Familiarity with investment concepts, financial markets, or financial technology is beneficial but not required
