Job Title: Smalltalk Developer (Insurance Domain)

Location: Whitehouse Station, NJ (Hybrid – 3–4 Days Onsite)

Duration: 12 Months

Experience Required: 10 Years

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Smalltalk Developer with strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) expertise and Insurance domain experience. The ideal candidate will work on legacy system modernization, support migration initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain applications using Smalltalk technology.
• Analyze and transform business requirements into technical designs using MVC architecture.
• Understand and document existing Smalltalk legacy systems, including class hierarchies and methods.
• Support application migration initiatives, including mapping Smalltalk functionality to Java-based systems.
• Compare and validate business logic between Smalltalk and migrated Java code.
• Provide technical guidance and direction to development and migration teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve system reliability.
• Ensure adherence to SDLC processes, coding standards, and documentation practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong experience in Smalltalk Programming (mandatory)
• Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
• Experience working with legacy system analysis and modernization
• Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies
• Excellent communication skills for direct client interaction
• Insurance domain experience (mandatory)

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with PL/SQL and SQL
• Exposure to Java development (for migration/comparison activities)
• Familiarity with GitHub and version control systems
• Knowledge of UNIX environments
