The selected SSHO will be a key addition to the team for heavy civil federal construction projects in South Texas including sections of border wall. This position supports the Prime Contractor, and assists with the professional development of Safety Specialist staff. Key Responsibilities
- Auditing projects for compliance with designated safety procedures
- Holding regular meetings with field personnel and enforcing site specific safety plans
- Staying up to date on safety regulations and proposing revisions to safety SOP
- Supporting the Technical Director on Safety initiatives and hiring plans
- Supporting Field Leadership through ongoing training of Safety Specialists assigned to projects
- Providing appropriate technical guidance and assistance to ensure departmental consistency
- Assisting in the development of a strategic growth plan for the division
- 10 years of relevant heavy civil infrastructure construction experience
- Associate's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
- Prior experience with 2 or more design-build federal construction projects exceeding $5M in value
- EM 385-1-1 40 hr certification
- Knowledge of wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective people management skills including the ability to delegate
- Willingness to train and mentor more junior personnel in support of Safety program
- Experience with safety compliance, inspections, testing, deficiency tracking, and government coordination
- Salary 120-145k (based on experience)

Salary : $120,000 - $145,000
