This role is responsible for supporting the estimating department and construction projects by executing the quoting, procurement, and delivery of specified products and services from qualified suppliers and subcontractors. The Purchasing Manager will evaluate and recommend the best solutions with respect to cost, quality, delivery, National Supply Agreements, and alignment with company purchasing standards.

This role is responsible for supporting the estimating department and construction projects by executing the quoting, procurement, and delivery of specified products and services from qualified suppliers and subcontractors. The Purchasing Manager will evaluate and recommend the best solutions with respect to cost, quality, delivery, National Supply Agreements, and alignment with company purchasing standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee procurement activities including purchasing job supplies, permanent materials, construction equipment, replacement and repair parts, lease equipment, and subcontracts through bids and National Supply Agreements
- Maintain and build strong internal relationships with Sales, Engineering, Foremen, Production, and Business Development teams
- Evaluate and improve corporate purchasing policies; assess current and potential suppliers and recommend changes as needed
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure optimal value
- Assist in preparing bid documents and bidder lists, including inquiries, requests for bids, and recommendations for contract awards
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and fabrication managers to procure raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies
- Support resolution of supplier-related issues and conflicts in a professional and unbiased manner
- Track and assist with Key Performance Indicator (KPI) measurement and validation
- Ensure procurement processes align with company standards and project timelines
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field required
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in purchasing with demonstrated team building and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of purchasing systems, practices, and procedures
- Proven negotiation skills and ability to procure materials in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Results-driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail
- Strong product knowledge of pipe, valves, and fittings for plumbing/mechanical systems
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, database applications, and ERP systems (COINS preferred)
- Ability to thrive in a continuous improvement environment

Salary : $90,000 - $125,500
