Payroll Accountant

RealREPP, a full-service recruiting firm, is partnering with a growing, employee-owned organization to assist in hiring a Payroll Accountant. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of assigned financial transactions
• Perform regular account reconciliations to maintain accuracy of financial records.
• Research and resolve basic accounting discrepancies and irregularities; escalate more complex issues as necessary.
• Follow established policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and all state and federal regulations.
• Respond to internal and external customer inquiries promptly and professionally; provide instruction to help users understand accounting processes related to their transactions.
• Cross-train across accounting functions to broaden understanding of financial systems and processes.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Basic accounting knowledge with the ability to analyze and resolve routine issues.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and operate under pressure.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related technology; intermediate to advanced skill level preferred.
• Flexibility to navigate a rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to work under direct supervision and make decisions within established guidelines.
• This role does not supervise employees.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience preferred.
• 2-4 years of accounting experience preferred.
