What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Civil Estimator position at RealREPP?
The selected Heavy Civil Estimator will play a key role in winning public and private work in the local market with a heavy emphasis on DOT and infrastructure. Prior experience estimating heavy civil projects of similar size and scope for a self-performing contractor is required for serious consideration. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Estimator and other team members with preparation of bid packages.
- Review progress on projects and adjust schedules as needed.
- Maintain and update database of relevant resources and historical data.
- Keep records of all project details and documentation such as contracts, bids, and correspondence.
- Determine initial production rates.
- Estimate materials costs and labor hours needed to complete projects.
- Solicit material and subcontractor pricing (subbing dry utilities, striping, landscape, signage).
- Review finished products to ensure that they meet quality standards.
- Work independently and as a member of a collaborative team.
- 5 years of heavy civil estimating experience
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Math or related discipline from an accredited institution
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specs to determine work requirements
- Prior experience working with HCSS
- Familiarity with Agtek
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize competing deadlines
- Salary 100-145k (based on experience)
