- Provide positive and effective oversight of Estimators and Associate Estimators to ensure proper coverage on bid packages.
- Establish preliminary project schedules
- Make recommendations to improve efficiency, and champion software and technology solutions.
- Monitor the Division’s backlog to ensure alignment with company growth goals.
- Review progress on projects and adjust schedules as needed.
- Maintain and update database of relevant resources and historical data.
- Keep records of all project details and documentation such as contracts, bids, and correspondence.
- Determine initial production rates.
- Estimate materials costs and labor hours needed to complete projects.
- Solicit material and subcontractor pricing.
- Review finished products to ensure that they meet quality standards.
- Proactively identify training gaps with personnel, ensuring that they gain access to proper resources and supplemental training to maximize career growth potential.
- Assist in the development of a strategic growth plan for the division.
- 10 years of heavy civil estimating experience demonstrating a progressive increase in responsibilities
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Math or related discipline from an accredited institution
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specs to determine work requirements
- Ability to demonstrate a successful track record of work bid and won
- Prior experience working with HCSS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective people management skills including the ability to delegate
- Ability to manage and prioritize competing deadlines
- Salary 160-200k (based on experience)
