Community Summary
Opened in the Summer of 2006, Point West Resort has quickly become one of Galveston Island's favorite retreats! The 1000 acre property is located on the last 3 1/2 miles of he west end of the island. The community caters to all, from tourist to weekenders to families, Pointe West has become a tradition for many.
Our Beach Club: At the Beach Club you will find our infinity pool, large hot tub, kiddie pool, fitness center, game room, Sippin’ on Sunshine Restaurant & Bar, Sommer’s Giffs, gas grills, cabanas that are available to rent, and a whole lot of fun! This is also where the office is located to purchase and pick up your wristbands for the amenities at Pointe West. Office hours are from 9am – 5pm (with extended hours during the summer).
Our Sunset Pool: Our Sunset Pool is the place to be! With our lazy river and pool, mini shallow area for the little ones, hot tub, fire pit, and grills, this pool is our hidden jewel! Relax and float around the lazy river under the beautiful palms while listening to music and spending time with your loved ones.
Our Beach: Over a mile of vehicle free beach for your enjoyment. Highly maintained during our Sargassum Seaweed season, our beaches are among the cleanest and most inviting on the Texas coast. Bring your beach towels, tents, sunscreen and smiles for a wonderful day on the beach!
The community has about 600 units, varying from cottages, condominiums and custom houses- with space for more to be built. The community has beach access and views of the ocean. Pointe West is a premier community in Galveston, TX.
Role Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, organized and quality-minded manager. Advancement and professional development opportunities to expand responsibility for other branch operations. Responsible for supervising a crew of maintenance personnel, daily scheduling, preparing estimates and proposals, managing computer-based work- order system, interacting with homeowners, vendors, HOA community managers, periodic property inspections, and administration of time sheets and expense reporting.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a crew of two plus maintenance technicians
- Manage computer-based work-order system, and ensure completion of work
- Maintain excellent relations with owners/residents through fast, well-done, efficient work completion
- Grow the maintenance operation to achieve goals set forth by leadership
- Manage daily scheduling of crew members and resource allocation Organize and set up maintenance projects
- Set up maintenance schedules
- Prepare estimates and proposals
- Track job information in spreadsheets
- Manage time sheet records and expense reporting
- Adhere to the maintenance portion of the budget
- Purchase maintenance and construction supplies
- Complete periodic inspections of grounds, common area buildings, structures and advice supervisor if needed
- Plus, other work related tasks as needed

Qualifications:- 3 years of maintenance experience required
- Previous maintenace experience in property management strong desired
- Previous supervisor/management experience strongly desired
- Knowledge of Homeowner Association Management industry preferred
- Must be able to speak, read and write English. Spanish speaking skills are a plus
- Excellent people skills, well-spoken and professional
- Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
- Must be well organized and be able to multi-task Must be a proficient problem solver
- Must know how to use tools, supplies, materials, chemicals in a manner that does not endanger self, other employees, residents, the environment or the public in general
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach frequently.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance.
- Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and machinery safely.
- Visual acuity to inspect equipment, read gauges, and perform detailed tasks.
- Hearing ability to detect alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions in noisy environments.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise, outdoors).
- Ability to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, on-call, and overtime as required.
Pay and Benefits
$55,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on education and experience.
